Explanations
Venus is more similar to Earth than any other planet – with a diameter of 12,104 km, it's nearly the same size. However, it's a stark warning about extreme conditions: a dense CO₂ atmosphere creates a runaway greenhouse effect, resulting in surface temperatures of 737 Kelvin (464°C). With an orbital period of 224.7 days and a distance of 108.2 million km from the Sun, it demonstrates how drastically different planets can be despite orbiting in similar regions.
