Ganymede is larger than Mercury but less than half as massive.
Explanations
Ganymede, with a diameter of 5,268 km, is larger than the planet Mercury and orbits Jupiter every 7.155 days. What makes it truly special is that it's the only moon in the entire solar system with its own magnetic field. Beneath its icy surface (surface temperature: 110 K, about −163°C), scientists believe there's a massive underground ocean – an exciting possibility for extraterrestrial life.
